RONINREADY Gear Co. is an online boutique store specializing in everyday carry gear, apparel, and accessories curated for the modern Ronin. We choose Japanese themes and motifs as inspiration for our designs to bring a unique perspective to everyday carry, travel, and the casual prepared lifestyle. Established in January 2025, we don’t just sell products—we provide the tools for self-reliance. Whether you are navigating a daily commute, traveling off the grid, or training for the unexpected, we believe your gear should be an extension of your capability.

Born from the Hustle

The idea behind RONINREADY GEAR CO was born out of a fast-paced lifestyle—raising kids, balancing work, and making time for travel, martial arts, and self-defense training. Along the way, we noticed a pattern: our collection of backpacks, fanny packs, knives, flashlights, first aid kits, and other everyday essentials kept growing. Each piece served a purpose, ensuring we were always prepared for any situation, whether at a soccer game, karate tournament, on vacation, or running daily errands.

From this realization, RONINREADY GEAR CO was created—to help others stay ready, organized, and in control of their adventures.

Why “Ronin”?

The term “Ronin” comes from the masterless samurai of feudal Japan—warriors who had to rely on their own skill, resourcefulness, and adaptability to survive. They weren’t tied to a single path, but instead, forged their own way. That’s my interpretation. My wife, who is Japanese, says that in Japan a Ronin is an unemployed samurai and has a somewhat negative connotation. I like my version better. 🙂

To be “Ronin-Ready” means taking that same warrior spirit and applying it to modern life. Whether it’s navigating an unpredictable job market, handling personal security, or being financially prepared, readiness is about more than just carrying a knife or flashlight—it’s about ensuring you can handle whatever life throws your way.

With thoughtful planning and research, we develop our inventory based on four immovable pillars:
